JSON API monitoring

Check what your API returns, not just that it responds.

LucidStack calls your endpoints, checks the status code, response time and JSON content with precise assertions, and opens an incident as soon as a value goes out of bounds.

API monitoring

Assertions that match your APIs

Up to ten assertions per monitor, on top of schema validation.

JSONPath assertions

$.status equals "ok", $.queue.pending less than 500, $.version exists: choose the path, the operator and the value.

Six operators

Equals, not equals, contains, greater than, less than and exists, to cover the most common checks.

JSON Schema

Validate the full response structure with a JSON schema and catch contract regressions.

Authenticated requests

Method, body, custom headers, bearer token or basic authentication, stored securely.

Performance tracked

Response time per region, 95th percentile and anomaly detection when an API slows down.

API-driven

Create and update your monitors from your deployment pipeline with the LucidStack REST API.

Questions

API monitoring FAQ

Which operators are available?

Equals, not equals, contains, greater than, less than and exists. Each assertion targets a JSONPath in the response.

Can I send a request body?

Yes, for POST, PUT or PATCH methods, with any headers you like.

Are API tokens protected?

They are stored securely, masked in the interface and never written to the audit log.

Can I monitor GraphQL APIs?

Yes, by sending the GraphQL query in the body of a POST request and checking the JSON response with assertions.

Start monitoring in two minutes.

Add a URL, choose where to be alerted. LucidStack takes care of the rest, day and night.
