TCP port monitoring

Not all your services speak HTTP.

TCP port monitoring

The network layer under control

A simple, fast and reliable check for your TCP services.

Any port

From 1 to 65535, on a hostname or a public IP address.

Expected banner

Check that the service answering is the right one: SSH-2.0, Redis reply, FTP banner…

Connection time

The time to establish the connection is measured and tracked over time, region by region.

Adjustable timeout

From 5 to 60 seconds, depending on how responsive your service should be.

Dependencies

Link the monitor to the server hosting it: if the server goes down, incidents are grouped.

Three regions

A local network glitch doesn't trigger an alert; a real outage does.

Questions

Port monitoring FAQ

Does my port need to be open to the internet?

Yes, the probes connect from the internet. Allow their addresses, listed on the LucidStackBot page, in your firewall.

Does LucidStack authenticate to my service?

No. The connection is opened, any banner is read, then the connection is closed without authenticating.

Can I monitor an IPv6 address?

Yes, hostnames as well as public IPv4 and IPv6 addresses are accepted.

How is it different from ping?

Ping checks that the machine responds; a TCP port check verifies that the service itself accepts connections.

Start monitoring in two minutes.

Add a URL, choose where to be alerted. LucidStack takes care of the rest, day and night.
