Ping monitoring

Your network at a glance

The lightest check, and often the first to reveal a problem.

Average round-trip time for each batch of packets, tracked over time and by region.

Packet loss

Partial loss is caught before a complete outage.

Monitor your public addresses, whatever the protocol version.

Three vantage points

Questions

Ping monitoring FAQ

Does my device need to respond to ping?

Yes, ICMP echo requests must be allowed from the LucidStack probe addresses.

How many packets are sent?

A short batch of packets on every check, to measure both latency and loss.

Can I ping a private address?

No, only public addresses are accepted: the probes check your devices from the internet.

Is ping enough for a website?

No: a machine can answer ping while the website is down. Combine it with HTTP monitoring.

Start monitoring in two minutes.

Add a URL, choose where to be alerted. LucidStack takes care of the rest, day and night.
